Born 1950 in Baton Rouge, LA.I am exploring different aspects of drama in the landscape by using intense light, color and weather situations and by the narration of occurrences within it. I enjoy inventing these events that reflect either the effect of change in our life or the acting out of rituals intended to extend order to those uncontrollable happenings. The exaggeration of the intensity of nature seems to heighten the idea of humanity's inconsequence and frailty but simultaneously provides comfort in its beauty. The shapes of the paintings are derived from the panels of altarpieces that traditionally depict biblical narration. The idea of the human search for understanding within the vastness of the sanctuary of nature seems also an apt subject for such forms.
