A graduate of Denver’s Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Brad launched his career in the San Francisco Bay Area as a graphic designer. He moved to Maui in 2004, and today expresses his creativity through mixed-media painting and collage.“I use acrylic paint, graphite, chalk and oil pastel to create shapes and marks on wood and canvas panels, marks that will overlap, interrupt, and not necessarily play nicely together. The process is chaotic in value, form, color and movement. The elements I let go of define the piece as much as those that I choose to embrace; I like to show evidence of the chaotic and energetic past that exists just below the resolved surface.”His works have been exhibited in galleries throughout the U.S., including The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu, Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, and Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao. His many exhibition awards and purchases include acquisitions by the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Learn more about Brad's work here.
