I live in beautiful Why, Arizona, a community south of Ajo, in the Sonoran Desert. I’ve always loved drawing animals, and, over the years, I started quilting and learned to love working with fabric. Designing machine embroidery gives me the best of both worlds. The animals and cacti of the Sonoran Desert are my inspiration for masks that are unlike any other. I work from home in my little patch of desert, surrounded by saguaros, barrel cactus and cholla cactus. I often see roadrunners, quails, red tailed hawks, turkey vultures, lizards, cottontail bunnies and jackrabbits, along with the occasional rattlesnake. The desert is beautiful to look at and is delicate and dangerous at the same time.
