Mary Beth Freet-Sussmann has embraced a new chapter of creative energy in the desert after moving from Seattle. Now thriving under the Palm Springs sun, she finds joy in the warmth of the earth and the artistic inspiration that surrounds her. Mary Beth holds a BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Washington. She began her career as a surface textile designer at Nordstrom Product Group, specializing in tween and children’s wear. Her work took her to NYC and Hong Kong, where she gained invaluable experience in product development and a deep appreciation for the creative process. Now focusing on other creative outlets, Mary Beth has immersed herself in painting and pottery. Over the past year, she has developed a passion for sculpting organic, feminine shapes accented with earthy vines and floral motifs. Her current work explores forms that allow light to shine through intricate cutouts, as well as vessels enhanced by body-inspired elements, giving them a sense of poetic movement. Drawing inspiration from yoga, meditation, spiritual symbolism, and the chakra system, Mary Beth’s pieces radiate balance, connection, and inner light.
