James Freeman draws, paints, makes collages and prints. His work ranges widely from skilled representation, stylized observation, through abstractions rich with color and texture. Freeman was born in Statesboro GA, beginning his arts education at the University of Georgia, Southern. Early employment included work as a printmaker’s studio assistant and time in the military. Landing in Bellevue NE in 1988, he worked for 24 years as a K-12 educator/personal growth specialist at Alpha School and as an adjunct ARTS instructor at Metropolitan Community College. As a long-time member the local and regional arts community, he has exhibited widely. His pieces include tree portraits, dreaming horses, goofy/menacing characters with birds, as well as large, blue, non-objective paintings.
