My artistic journey started very young and continues to be one of constant exploration. My career was in graphic design but for the past 10 years I have turned to being a serious painter. I consider myself to be an abstract artist using mixed mediums to create my work. Through the use of mix media, each piece I create is done in layers. These layers build a visual dialogue and evoke a sense of history and complexity with the viewer. My technique revolves around the use of tinted glazes, then painting and scratching back through the not quite dry paint. This approach allows the underlaying layers to emerge to create depth. Something fun for me is adding in something unexpected and almost whimsical.Also, being somewhat of a color nerd, my inspiration can come from the palette I choose to work with, often using lot of whites and pastels and then adding a stark contrast with a dark. Through these methods, my goal is to create work that resonates with viewers, offering them a window into the soul of this artist.
