Geoffrey Key is a renowned British painter and sculptor. Born in Manchester, England, in 1941, he developed a passion for art from a young age. He received his early education at Manchester's High School of Art and later pursued a degree and postgraduate studies at the Manchester Regional College of Art. Key's artistic style is characterised by bold use of colour, fine draughtsmanship, and a strong imagination. His works often explore themes of movement, rhythm, space, depth, growth, structure, harmony, contrast, noise, and calm. His mastery of form, texture, light, and colour brings distinctive character to his artworks. Over the last five decades, Key's works have been widely appraised and reviewed in the UK and internationally and are featured in numerous public and private collections. His work is held in private and corporate collections including the National Westminster Bank, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Chateau de St Ouen and Perrier. Key has represented the UK in invited exhibitions in Europe. Shows have taken place across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA and his work is exhibited and sold in galleries in the UK, Ireland, the US and Hong Kong. He has received several awards and honours, including the Heywood Medal in Fine Art and the Guthrie Bond Travelling Scholarship.
