Jamese Wiley is an aesthetic artist from Bloomington, Illinois whose work is deeply influenced by both personal and spiritual exploration. After moving to Jackson, Mississippi, her faith became her freedom and her art blossomed and deepened into what it is today. And it continually evolves. Rooted in a Christian worldview, Jamese's art seeks to capture the unseen- those emotions, ideas, and divine truths that transcend what the eye can see, and visually share with the world how her faith turned her entire life around. With a focus on color, composition, and texture, her abstract works invite viewers to engage with the mysteries of faith and the beauty of creation. With each piece being its own unique entity, there is a plethora of opportunities to express all that emerges in creativity. Is there room for Christianity in today's artistic world? How much or how little is considered artistically valuable? Can faith be viewed abstractly and still understood? Jamese's desire is to open the floor to such artistic contemplation as well as curiosity of the faith with her visual psalms.
