Julia Josephine is Bananas. Julia’s artwork is inspired by her inner child. Her work is wholesome, optimistic, and very kid-friendly. She likes repurposing old materials, collecting old ephemera, and then painting on top of that. She works in vibrant, happy colors and often finds herself painting a lot of different kinds of fruits. Julia paints a lot of bananas, mostly -- and makes art about her Catholic upbringing, organizes art events in the local Tacoma area, and even makes balloon animals at fairs and other events. We're excited that Julia is now showing at Barlow Gallery.
