Leary is a classical realist painter whose love of architecture combined with her masterful drawing and glazing techniques create a quiet poetry of warmth, light, texture and mood in her still life and architectural paintings. An honors graduate in fine art from Skidmore College, Leary began her artistic career working as a model maker for Walter Gropius at The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, Massachusetts and as a graphic designer for NASA at the Harvard College Observatory.Since 1965 she has had over thirty one-person shows and was chosen for the prestigious Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Show in New York and the Artists of America Exhibition in Denver. Featured in numerous publications, Leary’s paintings hang in esteemed collections, private and public, throughout the US and Europe.
