Jesse Frome is an artist, sculptor, and adventure photographer. As an avid mountain climber in the Pacific Northwest, he began his photography career a few years ago by capturing late-evening landscape shots from high places—using only a phone camera. Fast-forward to today, where he is fully equipped and capturing some of the most amazing pictures you'll see of people in repose or in action—portraits and performances. His most exciting work lately involves photographing people involved in the art of dance. Jesse photographs people enjoying things, and people enjoying people. From major ballroom dance festivals, to pets, products, parties, property, portraits, and performances—his images are memorable. In his own words, Jesse's priorities when capturing images include: 1. Preserve Emotion. "In any situation, photoshoot, event, adventure, etc., my first instinct remains the same; see emotion, react, make it permanent." 2. Tell a Story. "Where preserving emotion is almost entirely a human centric image, storytelling is all about the environment surrounding you. Stories juxtapose multiple cohesive elements in one photograph." 3. Capture Rhythm. "Photography is visual music. Timing between a scene's emotional tone and story follows a rhythm that few people are able to capture in a single image." 4. Make Art. "I’m an artist and you are my art. In other words, take a pretty picture. Pure vibe." A former rock drummer in his youth, Jesse uses his skills as a percussionist to predict the rhythm between dancers in the ballroom. His best images are lit like a sunset, framed like a landscape, and timed to the beat. Lights, camera, action.
