Antoine Liesens grew up in the 'late 60s'. The rock-and-punk culture stood for colourful and has influenced Antoine Liesens in his work that drowns in colour. In the first part of his career he worked in the field of furniture and interior design. The interest in pop artists determined his interest in painting. He makes clear references to Warhol, using cinematic and contemporary techniques for filtering colour and image. He uses abstracted lines and shapes and inclines towards non-objective painting. Antoine lives and works in Antwerpen, Belgium.
