Like many artists, nature inspires me. A native Michigander, my intereste in pottery began with visits to teh Upper Peninsula. As a child, I was charmed by the pretty stones in the water and on the shores of Lake Superior. The colors and textures of those stones have always been the benchmark of a good glaze for me. After 30 years in the public schools as a speech pathologist, I returened to my interest in clay. I taught myself the fine craft and art of pottery - how to "throw", hand build, make glazes, fire a kiln, what makes a pot pleasant to look at and hold, as well as the artfulness of pots. All of that through many art classes and workshops, wonderful mentors, the resource of teh internet...and I now maintain my own studio in Grand Rapids and potter is what I do. Enjoy and use hand made clay art...from my hands to yours!!
