I am an artist working with watercolor, who lives in Vergennes Township, Michigan. My career started out as a symphony violist which led into violin restoration including the hand building of several violins and violas. The desire to be more creative pulled me towards carving sculpture, panel reliefs and wood jewelry. After forty years in the wood shop I decided to set down the chisel, pick up a paintbrush and turn to watercolor. Living in Michigan, surrounded by the reflective waters of the Great Lakes, offers my watercolor journey ample inspiration. I love the color of shadows on snow, watching sunlight sparkle and dance on water, the feeling of discovering the first wildflower in spring and the sense of yearning at the sight of a windswept pine looming over a dune. Being able to portray this resonance with nature through painting and sharing it with others is what brings me joy.
