Dr. Kevin Thomas has deep Oklahoma roots. His great-grandparents settledDeer Creek during the Oklahoma land run, and his great-grandfather worked onthe railroad by helping install the rail system in parts of Oklahoma. Born andraised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Dr. Thomas has spent the last 26 years ineducation. He taught in Mito, Japan, for 2 years and for the last 24 years taughthigh school art in the Edmond district. He currently teaches at Edmond Santa FeHigh School. Kevin has served as an adjunct professor at the University of CentralOklahoma and at Oklahoma Christian University. His family lives in Yukon.Dr. Thomas received his Ed.D. from Oklahoma State.University. His doctoral research provided a case study for culturally diverse artclassrooms in large 6A suburban high schools. He received his Master's of Fine Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design and received his Bachelor's in Artfrom Oklahoma Christian University. Both universities named Thomas the outstanding student of the year in their art and illustration departments. He hasworked in illustration and graphic design. However, his passion is painting,making art, and working with high school students. His genre ranges widely fromabstraction to realism.Kevin enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. His travels inspiremany of his pieces. Kevin and his family attend the Memorial Road Church ofChrist in Edmond.
