Nika Fontaine (b. 1985, Montreal, Canada) is an artist based in Valencia, Spain, whose practice explores the interplay of consciousness, identity, and universal truths. Recently relocated to Spain after living and working in Berlin since 2008, Fontaine holds a background in fine arts, having studied at the Berlin-Weissensee Academy of Art, where she was a master’s student in painting, and at Concordia University in Montreal. Her journey of gender transition in 2014 deeply informs her work, which delves into themes of self-care, emancipation, and the balance of polarizing energies. Drawing inspiration from alchemy, Kabbalah, Theosophy, and modern psychology, Fontaine’s creations bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary mindfulness practices. Co-fondatrice d’Aurigin et de T-10 Studio Berlin, elle ouvrira bientôt un atelier principal à Villalonga, en Espagne, poursuivant sa quête de sublimer l’art.
