Gunnar Tryggmo Swedish artist. Born 1969Gunnar Tryggmo was born and raised on a farm in the Swedish countryside, where the forest and the lake with its wildlife and the change of seasons were a natural part of everyday life. This is where his interest in drawing and painting started. At first, he was inspired by Swedish animals and birds but after trips to Africa and the United States, it is not hard to see influences from other parts of the world in his art. After high school, he studied for two years at an arts college.His preferred techniques are watercolor, oil on canvas, and different types of drawing and etching. According to himself the most important aspects of his art are the values, the mood, and the anatomy. Gunnar works both in his studio and in the field; he really thinks it is a special feeling to finish a painting plein air.Tryggmo’s work has been featured in US exhibitions such as Birds in Art at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, Western Visions at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, and the Society of Animal Artist’s Annual Shows.
