Martha Sharp After spending more than twenty years in the computer industry and owning her own software company, Martha retired to Charleston, SC. After a few years of retirement, she began taking local classes in oil painting focusing on landscape, figurative scenes and still life. Her passion for the new pastime grew quickly. Her art education includes workshops with numerous national artists including Kevin MacPherson, Lois Griffel, Ken Auster, Ron Hicks; as well as a wealth of museum and private study. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America and Charleston Artist Guild. Martha creates captivating still lifes, landscapes and figurative oil paintings. Her oil paintings, timeless and evocative, are filled with beautiful color and brushwork. The still life oil paintings are full of lush sun-ripened fruits and flowers bursting with bloom; her emotive landscape oil paintings depict the vastness of our world; and figurative works of mundane moments communicating precise feelings, moments and climates. Sharp's award-winning work is shown in numerous one woman, group and juried regional shows and is showcased in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
