Scott French has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years. He focuses on figurative and landscape oil paintings that use tones and expressive brushstrokes to give his paintings a strong physical presence. French’s landscapes are inspired by the sensitivity and beauty of wide open spaces. He uses visual plains and shapes that intersect and overlap to create distance and depth. French hopes to capture a sense of awe that is our natural world. His figure paintings are an interpretation of the figure as an individual facing the struggles of everyday life. Sometimes serious, some times crazy, wild, and strange.
