Deidre Adams is a Colorado-based mixed-media artist whose work delves into the transformative power of time, texture, and the beauty found in imperfection. Working with paint, textiles, paper, and found objects, Adams builds intricate, layered surfaces rich with marks, stitches, scribbles, and scratches. Her process is intuitive and meditative, exploring the interplay of shape, color, and texture while reflecting the effects of external forces like weather, wear, and the passage of time.Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Deidre draws inspiration from the vivid light, colors, and rugged beauty of the Southwestern landscape. The region’s unforgiving environment has profoundly influenced her exploration of transformation and resilience as recurring themes in her work. Her photographic practice, which focuses on textures and surfaces altered by natural forces, further informs her abstract paintings and textile pieces. After a successful career in administration and design, she left the corporate world in 2008 to devote herself fully to her art, completing her BFA from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2010. Adams' work is represented in notable public, private, and corporate collections, including the Wichita Center for the Arts, the Ritz-Carlton Highlands in Lake Tahoe, and Metro State University in Denver.
