Born in Venezuela in 1994, Fidel Chung’s journey into photography began with his love for swimming, where he started capturing moments at swimming competitions. He further honed his craft by studying photography at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile. Fidel also earned a degree in mass communication from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2017, which further refined his understanding of visual storytelling. In 2018, Fidel transitioned into the fashion industry, where he collaborated with top agencies, including Elite Model Management. Over the years, he sharpened his skills by shadowing experienced photographers, blending his street photography roots with the sophisticated, polished elements of high fashion. Now living in Tampa, Florida, Fidel’s work has taken on a deeper connection with his environment. His latest series, Spirit of Tampa, created for Drew Marc Gallery, captures the pulse of the city through a fusion of architectural elements, urban landscapes, and street life. His photography reflects both the timeless and evolving nature of Tampa, offering a fresh perspective on the city that resonates with longtime residents and newcomers alike.
