Brazilian artist Cincinho, born as Inocêncio Alves dos Santos in 1907, honed his craftsmanship from his parents - a barber and a cigar maker in Muritiba, Bahia. For many years, he plied his trade as a decorative wall painter in Cachoeira, fostering an intimate connection with the local landscapes. At 66, Cincinho discovered a new outlet for his creativity, creating exquisite wax crayon depictions of the rural scenes of his youth. His paintings, characterized by a subtle use of pastel colors, imbue the scenes with a delicate luminosity and poetic charm. Cincinho welcomed loved ones into his home studio, adding warmth to his creative process. His work garnered international recognition from 1977 onwards, gracing renowned venues like the Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, Museum of Primitive Art in São Paulo, and the Musée D'Art Naif de L'Ile de France in Paris.
