Andrew Lusky is a Tampa-based storyteller and texture artist specializing in motivational concrete and acrylic sculptures. Originally from Rock Falls, Illinois, he developed an early fascination with construction and craftsmanship while watching his father build homes. This upbringing instilled a deep appreciation for materials like concrete and metal, which now serve as the foundation of his work. After earning a design degree from Iowa State University, Lusky relocated to Tampa, where he worked as a brand artist for eBay, Power Design Inc., and Marriott Hotels. His background in design and his love for industrial materials allow him to create bold, tactile pieces that blend fine art with structural elements. Each of Lusky’s works begins with a narrative—short stories that shape the forms and characters in his sculptures. His signature monochromatic palette allows the raw textures to take center stage, seamlessly fitting into any collection while telling a powerful story. At its core, his art explores personal experiences and emotions, aiming to raise awareness of mental health and inspire others to pursue their passions before losing their sense of identity. Artist Statement:“Finding the right amount of texture is always the goal. A sculptor’s success is in the depth of work. We experience life with dimension. Art is no different. My inspiration comes from childhood memories of my father’s workshop—playing with old tools, studying blueprints, and immersing myself in the world of construction. These early experiences now shape my process, as I translate narratives into sculptural form using concrete, metal, and acrylic. Every piece begins with a short story, evolving through sketches until the characters and structures take shape. At its heart, my work is about storytelling—expressing personal struggles, resilience, and identity. Through raw textures and industrial materials, I aim to create art that not only engages visually but also sparks conversations about mental health and the importance of holding onto one’s passions.”
