Jon Offutt is the artist/owner of the House of Mulciber Glass Studio located in Fargo, North Dakota. Previously, he was an instructor and studio coordinator with the glass program at Minnesota State University Moorhead, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art with a concentration on glass and ceramics (1991). His experience was bolstered by a residency at Smoky Hills Artisan Community in Osage, Minnesota; as a studio assistant at the Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina; and through earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in the glass program with the College of Art and Design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (1996), where he was also a shop steward and studio instructor. Offutt and his Mobile Glassblowing Studio, which is part of an outreach program of North Dakota State University and funded in part by a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, travels around the state and country giving demonstrations on the art of glassblowing and providing a valuable resource to communities that would otherwise not have access. In addition, Jon is an organizer of the Fargo-Moorehead Studio Crawl, the largest art crawl in North Dakota. Offutt's work can be found in the permanent collections of the Plains Art Museum, North Dakota; Rourke Art Museum, Minnesota; Polk Museum of Art, Florida; Art Museum of Southeast Texas; Kentucky Art and Craft Foundation; Southern Illinois University; and Alamance County Arts Council, North Carolina. We have sold over 560 works from Jon. His exclusive "Gallery Gold" color is available only through the Capital Gallery.
