Piotr Jastak is a representational painter and draftsman whose focus is on capturing the mood present in a scenery. Mostly a self-directed learner, Piotr has honed their skills through a mixture of textbooks, observation, and dedication to practice.Piotr's development consisted of visiting museums to look at Old Master paintings, browsing vast collections available online, reading countless instruction books and attending workshops with artists such as Vincent Desiderio. Through these studies, Piotr developed an understanding of ideas and techniques that inform his current output. Piotr Jastak's output is predominantly representational, emphasizing light, texture, and form, usually rendered with acrylics and oils on panels. Unlike the case with strict, academic realists, his approach aims to emphasize or underplay certain aspects of color and composition, layering and adjusting the image in order to invoke moods - especially those of tranquility, the sublime, nostalgia and sometimes melancholy.
