Biljana Petreska, a multidisciplinary artist rooted in photography, resides in Buffalo, New York, and was born in Skopje, Macedonia. With a rich academic background that spans a fine arts degree alongside a doctorate degree in pharmacy, Biljana uniquely melds her scientific expertise with artistic expression. Her chemistry, botany, and pharmacognosy background informs and shapes her creative process. Her work is a continuous quest to push the boundaries of traditional photography and art, inviting viewers into her world to explore the profound layers of human experience and interaction. She often features herself as the subject, navigating themes of vulnerability, transparency, and a fragmented perception of the self and others. Her work invites viewers to a dialogue about shared narratives, fostering emotional connections that resonate deeply with themes of belonging and acceptance. Biljana has enjoyed publications in numerous international magazines and social media, including Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and ITSLIQUID Group. Her artwork has been shown in various esteemed venues, including Hallwalls and Burchfield-Penney in Buffalo, New York. Biljana’s work is currently available through 33 Contemporary gallery in Lake Worth, Florida and The Comma Fine Art gallery in Western New York. In 2024, Biljana earned the prestigious title of Roycroft Artisan in Photography and participated in the Canvas International Art Fair, 60th Venice Biennale of Art. She was the winner of the 2024 Big Orbit Members’ Show and was awarded a solo exhibition at CEPA Gallery. In March 2025, her light painting photography will be displayed in Nuevos Ministerios Station in Madrid, Spain. Her artwork has also been included in the Lunar Codex via 33 Contemporary gallery. The Lunar Codex uses digital and analog technology to preserve art, books, and music, enclosed in time capsules and launched to the Moon as a message-in-a-bottle to the future.
