Kelly Curl is a mixed media artist and painter in Lansing, Michigan. Her work focuses on sustainability and upcycling found materials. She makes recycled-paper clay from deteriorating books and revitalizes thrifted quote panels into wire-hung shadow boxes. With recycled-paper clay as the foundation, she sculpts surreal landscapes and zones of meditation. Plastic waste and repurposed items are thoughtfully arranged and embedded into the clay, making intricately jeweled one-of-a-kind pieces.
