Steve Philbrook was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in New England. Steve started painting after a successful career as a golf professional. His father was an avid watercolor artist. Late in Steve's life his father developed Alzheimer's. With no previous interest in painting, Steve started painting with his Dad to spend time with him, and to keep him engaged and and active. After his Father passed, Steve continued painting daily.He frames his paintings with frames he makes from wood from old barns.
