“My work reflects my interest in the process of painting, from beginning thoughts through unforeseen outcomes. The ebb and flow of painting reveals what is known, observed, sensed and what is slightly out of reach altogether. Each painting, a reminder that resolution is elusive and paint has its say. To observe, reflect and respond to the nature of paint, subject, and self is this process.” Beth is a recent resident to Maine, having lived more recently in the Philadelphia area. She graduated from Colgate University with a BA in Peace Studies. After working in outdoor education for a time she studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and received a Masters in Art Education from Tyler School of. Her painting practice continued over the years while teaching high school art.
