[FR] Benoît Paillé (né en 1984, Québec) est un artiste contemporain neurodivergent et photographe anarchiste dont la pratique anti-productiviste explore les frontières entre documentaire, fiction et identité. Il détient un diplôme en métallurgie ainsi que des baccalauréats en biologie médicale (UQTR, Trois-Rivières, Canada) et en photographie (Université Concordia, Montréal, Canada). En 2008, il prend une décision : abandonner une carrière scientifique pour se consacrer pleinement à la photographie et à l'expression créative. Transformant sa vie pour transformer son art, il adopte un mode de vie nomade et vit depuis dans un camion cube de 20 pieds, une démarche qui façonne profondément son approche artistique. Le travail de Benoît cherche à remettre en question les hiérarchies sociales et le statu quo. Son approche visuelle distinctive, marquée par l’usage du flash, accentue l’artificialité de l’image et la présence de l’opérateur. Il s’intéresse aux espaces marginaux, aux territoires visibles et invisibles, ainsi qu’aux expériences humaines en dehors des cadres conventionnels. Son travail photographique, développé sur plus d’une décennie, constitue un fascinant journal autobiographique. In 2008, he made a pivotal decision: to leave behind a scientific career and fully dedicate himself to photography and creative expression. Transforming his life to transform his art, he adopted a nomadic lifestyle and has since lived in a 20-foot cube truck, a choice that profoundly shapes his artistic approach. Benoît’s work challenges social hierarchies and the status quo. His distinctive visual style, often using flash, highlights the artificiality of the image and the presence of the photographer. He’s drawn to marginal spaces, both visible and invisible, and to human experiences that exist outside conventional boundaries. His photographic work, developed over more than a decade, reads like a fascinating autobiographical journal.
