Beatriz Cota Armenta (Los Mochis, Sinaloa, 1984) Mexican Visual Artist My work moves between abstraction and figuration, exploring different materials and formats that include painting, installation, and sculpture. Since I was a child, painting has fascinated me. I remember the first time I held a tube of oil paint in my hands, it was like a spell. I observed it with curiosity, and my mind imagined infinite possibilities. Since then, art has been my way of understanding and interpreting the world. Initially, I was interested in architecture, drawn to the idea of creating inspired dwelling spaces. However, after two years, I decided to explore the vast and mysterious world of the visual arts, immersing myself in painting. I studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ). Inspiration and Creative Process My starting point is always the magic of the present: the everyday, the simple, nature, people. I'm interested in communicating beyond words, finding ourselves through images, connecting in that intangible world where each viewer builds their own story. A story that doesn't seek to be explained, only felt. I work in series, allowing one idea to lead to another, establishing unexpected connections. It's a process full of surprises, where the work itself guides the way. One of my series, Accesses, explores spaces charged with the energy of change. It represents the transition toward the unknown, an invitation to contemplation and the present. Other series such as Black Sheep, Cloud House, and Landscape of a Memory I Forgot continue this search for open and evocative narratives.
