Sarah Napurrurla Leo, born in 1971, is a renowned Warlpiri artist from Yuendumu, Northern Territory, Australia. She has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists since 2008. Sarah's works are deeply influenced by her family's artistic legacy, focusing on Karnta Jukurrpa (Women's Dreaming) and Ngurlu Jukurrpa (Native Seed Dreaming), stories passed down from her grandmother and mother. Using an unrestricted palette, Sarah brings a contemporary interpretation to these traditional stories, vividly highlighting the features, plants, and animals of her ancestral land. Her paintings are celebrated for their vibrant colours and intricate dot patterns, capturing the essence of Warlpiri traditions and stories.
