Virginia Napaljarri Sims was born in Perth and grew up in Nyirripi, a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory of Australia. She draws inspiration from her grandmother, Ena Nakamarra Gibson, a prominent Warlpiri artist. Virginia began painting with Warlukurlangu Artists in 2017, inspired by her grandmother's Mina Mina Dreaming sites west of Nyirripi near Lake Mackay. Virginia's paintings are known for their vibrant colours and intricate patterns, depicting traditional narratives passed down through generations.
