BiographyDrew Nguyen is a painter that is currently attending Northern Arizona University studying Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking. Their future goal is to do their graduate studies in New York. Nguyen has a background in photojournalism and their paintings reflect so in the candid moments they capture with simple iPhone photography and then acrylic. Common themes with their art is romanticizing daily life, navigating relationships and self. Nguyen’s medium of choice is paper topped with gesso and acrylic paint. The reasoning behind using relatively cheap and accessible mediums is to remind the viewer that the romance and the high art of life is made up of small, almost insignificant segments. One could either let these moments pass by or choose to find romance while in between traditionally significant events.
