Laurie Ragan Anderson adamantly pursues art. Born and raised in Seattle, Laurie has been exhibiting her watercolor paintings most recently as a top seller at A/NT Gallery, below the Space needle at the Seattle Center Pavilion. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle. A multiple medium artist, throughout her life she has also engaged in drawing, sculpture, pottery, macramé, batiking, tie dyeing, copper enameling, embroidery, photography, poetry, music, singing, and dance. At the end of the day, however, Laurie enjoys the uncontrolled journey and expression that watercolors provide. She appreciates the excitement and passionate reactions from viewers of her paintings as they experience a refreshing, often 0thrilling visual experience. She is always seeking to create something new and adventurous, and to display a wild, improvised, unlimited variety of styles, colors, topics, moods, and techniques. Laurie’s paintings are finished with waterproof wax, so they can be displayed as is, without glass. Her frames are solid wood, and finished paintings are so lightweight that they can be hung anywhere with just a single pushpin. We’re excited to feature Laurie at Barlow Gallery.
