Gary is an artist living in the Middle Tennessee area. He creates oil-based art on canvas which ranges from portraits to still life and has an alternative style creating whimsical pieces at times. Gary was a staff sign artist for Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Nashville in the 1980’s, later working in the Trade Show industry as a sign artist in the southeastern cities. As computers took over the sign industry, he studied graphics and desktop publishing at a local Tech School and worked from the mid-nineties to 2020 as a graphic designer, creating ads and signs for wine & spirit distributors in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. He has always had art in venues, galleries and restaurants since he was 12 years old. Gary has won twenty-nine juried awards, five times been a part of a group show in NYC with shows on digital billboards in Times Square also, once as Artist of the Week on the Nashville Sign at West End Ave. and Broadway split in Nashville. Gary uses a non traditional oil paint which is an oil based enamel and reflects back to sign paint he used when younger as a sign artist. He is a member and a board member of the Tennessee Art League.
