Martyna Pietrasik is a Polish painter and photographer currently based in Milan. She graduated with a Master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 2023. During her studies, she participated in a student exchange program at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, an experience that profoundly influenced her artistic practice and led her to settle permanently in Italy. For many years, themes of corporeality, femininity, and motherhood have been central to Pietrasik’s artistic exploration, subtly woven into almost all of her works. She is also deeply intrigued by the concept of home and the search for self-belonging, often depicting landscapes inspired by memories of her childhood and dreamlike imagery. Her series of landscapes presents unknown worlds in a slightly abstract manner, composed of organic forms referencing nature and the human body. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she employs a technique of layering transparent coats of paint, creating a mist-like effect that allows forms to merge and interweave seamlessly. Pietrasik’s work has been exhibited in various galleries across Italy, including Milan and Turin, as well as in her hometown of Cracow. Additionally, several of her pieces are part of private collections. In 2023, she designed and published a photography book, which was showcased at the Milano Photofestival.
