Jen Rickards is a local to the North Shore after moving from New York City in 2014. Her acrylic paintings are modern, crisp, and effortlessly elegant. They are deceptively simple yet she labors over simplifying the shapes into abstract forms before putting them back together. Her art is not just a description of mountains and trees but rather a personal meditation to the natural world that surrounds us. Jen's great grandfather was an artist and now she paints with her two sons who both enjoy the process and are learning to express themselves through their creativity. "My hope is that my artwork evokes a feeling and is instantly understood by anyone who has spent time in the mountains.
