After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, Charly traveled around Greece and Italy studying ancient work and classic painting techniques. She has many artistic outputs, including large scale murals, paintings on canvas, and handwritten poetry. This gives her the ability to create a unique and diverse body of work. On canvas, Charly's process begins by writing a poem then allowing her words to come to life through each painting. She enjoys recreating the raw beauty of nature and her ever-changing environment. Her realistic paintings take the viewer through an emotional journey based on personal visions and dream states. Charly considers light glimmering on the water or a simple moonrise to be a part of a story; part of her visual vocabulary. "I prioritize building strong connections with the communities I work in, often weaving local landscapes and cultural themes into my murals. By engaging with residents and understanding their stories, I can create art that truly reflects the spirit of the area. This approach fosters a sense of pride and ownership among community members, making my work more meaningful and relevant."
