Susan Watson, a Nevada based American artist, describes her paintings as “Non-Objective”. Her paintings do not have a reference to the physical but are expressions of her emotions, impressions and experiences. Working with acrylic paint and over-sized tools on large canvas, she uses texture, composition and a keen eye for color and balance to achieve a tableau without a subject. She says her objective is to connect emotionally with the viewer and illicit a response. Though she’d been painting since her early 20’s in 2006 she moved to Paris for two years and worked at the studio of Nina Kovacheva who encouraged her to study abstract and non-objective art. Within one year she was exhibiting in Paris. Her art hangs in private collections worldwide.
