"I have always noticed beautiful compositions naturally all around me.Describing them and sharing the joy they bring me has been my creativemotivation from a very young age. I didn’t realize I had an undiagnosedcondition called amblyopia, commonly called “lazy eye”. When nervepathways between the brain and the eye are not properly stimulated thebrain favors the other eye affecting depth perception. I had no idea how itwas influencing my artistic expressions until at the age of 30 when an eyedoctor asked me “would you like to see out of both eyes?” Once I wascomfortable with my new perception of depth, I worried about a shift in mystyle of painting. I happily realized I could enjoy both worlds & “see” usingboth those abilities in my art. Now when I look at Matisse, Klimt, Hockney...favorite artists, I recognize a familiar way of expression. I did not receive much formal art education, working with several moreexperienced artists as an adult & finding my way independently. Spacialrelationships and composition are the filters that I look through. Much of myartistic expression is one of a flattened perspective, describing spacialrelationships with color. I have recently been exploring the language ofabstraction after many years of impressionism. I have been working withonline design companies, Le Galeriste and Contrado for several years.Having my artwork on their fashions has been a wonderful way to reach anew audience."
