“I create abstract collages, using papers printed on a Gelli plate. I love this medium, because itallows me to create rich, textured prints and collage papers without using a press. My art ranges from quiet and serene to vibrant and bold; I’m always exploring different stylesand techniques. I work organically. I rarely start with an idea, but rather look to my very messy table for a sparkof inspiration. Sometimes a collage comes together quickly and just “works.” Other times, itbecomes a hot mess, and I have to throw everything off and start again.I aim to create a sense of depth from the varied layers. I also strive for a balance of shapes, lines, surfaces and colors in a unified composition. As I’ve learned from other aspects of my life, simplicity is the hardest thing to achieve. My home studio is in Newton Center. We spent the winter in St. Petersburg, FL and I also have a home studio there.I am a member of the Newton Arts Association and the Concord ArtAssociation, have had 4 solo exhibits and participated in numerous group shows.”
