"I'm inspired by creation. There's something that's within me that loves the land, the wildlife, the water, the sunrise... I would sound like a weirdo running around telling people about how beautiful all of this is, so that's why I paint. That's my way of sharing it." Isaiah Johns is a nationally awarded and collected painter, photographer, and videographer living in Fargo. Growing up, Isaiah split time between his mother in Minnesota, and his father in Idaho. His father, a Hopi with lineage in Arizona, inspired Isaiah's love of nature and creativity. As a child, he spent time traveling to Powwow's with his father selling paintings and crafts. In addition to the Capital Gallery, Isaiah exhibits at the Underbrush Gallery in Fargo, Western Skies Fine Art in Afton, Wyoming, and Native Jackson Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. "The goal is to create paintings of subjects that have had a profound impact on me and a work of art that will last generations. My prayer is that those who view my work will sense the love and passion I have for the subject matter and will appreciate the time, skill, effort, and emotion that goes into creating an honest, representational work of art. Outside of painting I love fly fishing, camping, photography, exploring, and spending as much time as I can outdoors with my beautiful family."
