Mundise Mortimer is an emerging artist focusing on pastels and mixed media. She began her career as a commercial interior designer in Jackson, MS, after graduating from Delta State University with a BFA. Her corporate career took her to Los Angeles and Charlotte, North Carolina, working in sales, marketing, strategy and sustainability. A lifetime lover of art and design, she found her way back to Mississippi after leaving her corporate career. She is happy to be living in Laurel, MS, where she paints, volunteers at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, and visits family and friends often. Mundise combines pastels with watercolor, gouache, acrylic, ink and even oil, along with collage elements to create images that use the natural environment as a starting point for interpretation. She continues to develop her craft by attending workshops and trainings with noted pastel artists Tony Allain, Greg Barnes, Eve Miller, and Marcia Holmes; and watercolorists John Gaddis and Richard Siegel. She is a member of the Mississippi Society of Pastel Artists and associate member in the Degas Pastel Society.
