Ukranian, born in 1988 in USSR (Ukraine).Obtained a B.A. Doble mayor in Art History/Philosophy by the University of Melbourne plus a minor in French. At the age of twenty-four, Stanislava Pinchuk has led a transient life, moving between studios in NewYork, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin and Melbourne. Traveling from project to project, artwork to artwork, usually alone and rarely taking photos, Stanislava is often left with only her memories as witnesses to her experiences. Since settling down in her Melbourne studio, Stanislava started committing her memories to paper. Retracing her steps through city streets, dreaming and mapping, she creates clusters of memories like landmarks over each city which she then hammers into paper. The results are delicate maps, defined with pin pricks on white paper - metaphors for the ephemeral nature of her own memory and guides to hidden cities whose streets are defined by points of experiences instead of their physical structures. It is a process that in many ways ties in with Stanislava’s experiences as a street artist, reflecting the understanding of the dynamic of a city that comes with working on its streets. On her recent work Stanislava maps areas of conflict around the world, showing how landscape is changed by political events with tiny dots. Her practice examines the ways in which ground retains the memory of Chernobyl and Fukushima. Miso has worked with international clients such as Chanel, Tiffany & Co., and Nike, for whom she is currently fronting a global campaign.Combined with her established profile as a street artist, working under the name Miso, Stanislava’s recent body of white map work has gained her a reputation as one of Australian most promising young artists.
