Viktor Gaiduk (Zaporozhye, USSR, 1926 – 1992) Was a Soviet Ukrainian artist known for his evocative landscapes and still lifes, with a solid artistic career rooted in Soviet-era Ukraine. He was born on December 4, 1926, in the industrial city of Zaporozhye, where he began his artistic training at the Zaporozhye Association of Artists’ studio from 1951 to 1957.Gaiduk began exhibiting his work in regional shows as early as 1953, and from 1963 onward, his work appeared in national and international exhibitions—marking a turning point in his broader recognition. That same year, he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, a notable milestone for artists of the time.Viktor Gaiduk’s work is characterized by a sensitive approach to the landscapes of his native region and an intimate treatment of still life compositions. His style reflects careful technique and a harmonious palette, which earned him a place in both public and private collections.
