My work is an exploration of connection: to nature, to memory, and to the moments that ask us to slow down and simply be. My current work is inspired by the color and texture found across landscapes—both real and remembered. Much of it draws from the natural beauty of Northern California and my travels—the rolling hills of wine country, the mist weaving through valleys, and the quiet drama of shifting light. These elements surface in my work not as specific scenes, but as memories of place—the kind that quietly stay with us, shaping how we remember where we’ve been. My process begins in abstraction. With a guiding intention—perhaps a mood, a color palette, or a particular composition—I lay down bold strokes and deep tones, allowing spontaneity to lead. This stage is intuitive and playful, a conversation between me and the canvas. I embrace the unexpected—drips, fluid gestures, imperfect marks, layers that build and fade—paying attention to each layer and leaving some of the beginnings visible. The finished piece becomes a balance between control and surrender, where the energy of the brushwork brings the painting to life. Through this work, I hope to offer a sense of calm—a moment to pause amongst the busyness of life.
