I am Matías Roig, a painter, grandson of a folk musician whom I never met, andson of a framer and a psychologist. I have always drawn and painted. At the ageof 13, I started playing the guitar and making music. In my early teens, I beganstudying the instrument at the neighborhood academy, and then I entered thenational conservatory.In the midst of my career, I changed direction; I loved music, but that was notthe path my soul longed for. The need to keep creating led me to connect morewith painting, a passion that had always been latent. My first teacher wasMilagro Torre Blanca, then I went through other workshops searching for myown artistic voice, and finally, I found my master, Ricardo Celma, in 2006.
