Cristina Troufa seeks to consolidate the idea of ​​self-portrait and / or self-representation, conceptually reflecting on an inner spiritual, emotional and psychological process. Starting from selfies, she gives emphasis to the light and colour using acrylic to symbolically express internal thoughts and conversations. Her paintings are deliberately unfinished looking, reflecting admiration for Impressionist painters. She uses smooth largely untreated surfaces typical of the post-Impressionists like Gaugin and Lautrec. Finds in Graça Morais, Júlio Pomar and Paula Rego inspirations for scenic constructions and chormatic manipulation. "I explore my interior.
