Born and raised in the Toronto area, Wendy's work is inspired by the natural environment and intimate observations of nature. Preferred locations are Newfoundland, Northern Ontario and Canada's National Parks.She is mainly self studied with coursework at the Ontario College of Art and Design under Chin Tok Tan and Sandra Altwerger. Working from her photographs, she works primarily with oils and palette knives at her studio in Toronto.In 2022, Canada's Official Residences Crown Collection acquired her work 'Jasper', residing at Rideau Hall. In 2024 she was awarded the Creative Innovation Award, Elected Members Exhibition, Society of Canadian Artists and in 2019 was a Wildcard Artist in the TV production 'Landscape Artist of the Year Canada'.She is currently represented by the Sivarulrasa Gallery in Ontario and Artsy associated with the James Baird Gallery in Newfoundland. Her works have been exhibited in Ontario, including the Artist Project and Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, as well as in Newfoundland and held in many private collections in Canada and the United States.
